China Steps Up Internet Censorship as EdgeCast Blocked

tencent logoChinese authorities have stepped up their Internet censorship by blocking more networks run by Verizon Communication INC. (VZ)’s EdgeCast unit. The blockage comes as China hosts a conference promoting domestic Internet titans Alibaba Group Holding Ltd., Tencent Holdings Ltd. and Baidu Inc.
